Welcome to my Homestead
Hi! I’m Bianca Castro. I am married to the most patient man who is always there and willing to make my dreams and ideas become a reality. Together we have two perfect boys (5 and 3) that love to learn new things and enjoy helping us around the farm.
When my oldest was born, he developed eczema on his arms, legs and cheeks as an infant. As a first time mother, I was scrambling to find something, anything, that would alleviate my baby’s condition. I tried several lotions, creams, salves and soaps until I discovered goat milk soap. I heard women using their breast milk to remedy sensitive skin issues and since I was unable to provide milk for my children, I decided to give goat milk soaps a shot. Finally! We found a solution to our problem and our baby’s eczema began clearing up after the first bath soak.
The Slippery Slope of Homesteading
I used to be a correctional officer but one thing lead to another and, with a new job, I realized I had a lot more time on my hands now to raise my boys how I was raised - with a lot of animals.
It all started with chickens… we already had an established coop with maybe 8 hens. I began making plans to remodel the coop and grow my flock. We now have over 50 chickens! But, you see, I had already started down the slippery slope of homesteading and found myself wanting MORE.
Cue the goats!
